I think it’s very unlikely any third party will write non-free binary only drivers unless funded to do so. If you’re a developer and want to participate in the effort I would suggest to get involved via the fprint community. This is how I’d like to proceed for this: I’m not a driver developer, but as Fingerprint GUI can find the fingerprint reader i think it should not be too difficult to incorporate it in Ubuntu.

I have two questions regarding the power management in combination with fprintd. If you want to continue ubyntu these files you need aufhentec execute the command “sudo make user-data” after installating the new version.
